I attempted to select UberX as my preference but the only preference showing up is for Uber eats. I have talked to tech support on the phone 4 different times now.

Boost does not apply to Eats deliveries, only UberX, XL, etc trips. If you're not getting boost on pax trips, then something is wrong or you weren't in the boost zone.
