Some folks said the only way to permanently turn it off is at the dealer. That could be, but here's what I did. Ok- RAB was always more annoying than helpful since I got my 2018 XT.

Dec 5, 2018 · All I have to do is press and hold that indicator for 3 to 5 seconds. It then changes to RAB-OFF. While RAB is turned off, there are no further issues with backing up the trailer. Best news is that there is an indicator that appears on the dash, reminding you that you have it turned off.

The RAB indicator (Reverse Automatic Braking system) will come on if there is a problem with that system. Could be a sensor in the rear bumper or a problem with the RAB module or wiring.
