The blind drills are really where the dog learns about casting. Using the gunner and then the old fall as a diversion to cast off of. Then you take the blind drills to other locations. Teach the line in a manner similar to the first leg of the pattern blind, then add a gunner, then an old fall to create suction to cast off of.
