Common is on Master lost sectors and I've only ever gone +2 on Master to get an exotic. Legend is rare. You shouldn't complain about not getting a drop in under 10 runs of a legend lost sector because they are so easy. Lost sectors may not be dropping exotics due to various factors. It could be due to bad luck, as there is no bad luck protection in place for exotic drops. Additionally, the chances of getting an exotic drop from a lost sector are not guaranteed, with a 1/3 chance for master difficulty and a 1/4 chance for legend difficulty.
Ran yesterday's Legend one and got legs 4/6 runs, did 5 runs today and not a single exotic arm dropped... Also got no cores on 1 run, which combined with no exotic's or even legendary items dropping was just pure poop. Just because the reward [i]may[/i] be an exotic helm doesn’t mean it will (1) actually be an exotic and (2) even if it is, there is no guarantee that it’ll be one you don’t yet have. This is the nature of non-quest Destiny rewards (lost sectors are not quests). Destiny rewards are granted from loot pools.
