We received the new Mesh Node extender 2 days after ordering it. ($99 added to our account). It is installed and working. Wi-Fi Signal strength outside at our generator is about 20% which is just good enough to keep our generator online. This is the same signal strength we had there with the older, Hughes Wi-Fi booster.

I can get to the router setup, but not system control center. I've tried setting the dns to Google's, and setting it to get from ISP. Nothing works. At least nothing beyond the router works. I've power cycled, and rebooted in the router setup. I'm afraid there is a problem with modem since I can't get to system control center.

For my laptop (X170KM-G) I found control center v3.36 on that webpage. Once downloaded and unzipped be sure to run setup.bat NOT setup.exe. At least that was the trick for me. When I ran the setup.exe, it rendered control center a useless icon in my system tray and control center simply didn't work at all.

Go to the System Control Center and click on WiFi Settings on the lower left. Use "admin" as the password (without the quotes). Click "Advanced Setup", then "Wireless". Then, in the 2.4Ghz settings on the right, change the Wireless Mode to "11n only" and the Bandwidth to "20/40 MHz".

Regarding the functionality of the current desktop client, it will continue to work as long as it remains installed, but can't be reinstalled on another PC or the same one after re-imaging. As Kathy mentioned, moving forward, your best options for checking usage are the mobile app, the support center, and also the SCC.
