The ones that don't get sold after a few weeks get cycled into the different community tanks so that they don't have to stay in cups the whole time. Then they go back to the cups after some time in the big tanks to allow other unsold bettas an opportunity to free swim.Can't recommend buying anything living from Petco. Next to the isopods and springtails they have feeder roaches, half of which are dead in the container, not to mention the fish, reptiles, and rodents which are sometimes sick and dying.
