The Hilton Waikoloa is a very nice resort, however the distance to walk to get around to the beaches from an ocean view room leaves a little bit to be desired. The resort could use better accesses for people in wheelchairs or with handicap means having a room on the third floor with an ocean view was absolutely fabulous.

Reviewed June 8, 2014. No ocean beach. Property is spread around. Positives: helpful staff, public transportation on property, many restaurants on property, good-size room, OK bathroom, refrigerator in the room, many pools on property, lots of good reproductions of far east antiques in public areas, including open areas.Hapuna Beach makes many "Top Beaches" lists, you won't see Anaeho'omalu Bay on those lists (or the Waikoloa Lagoon). The Westin Hapuna recently underwent a major renovation (when Westin bought it, not sure when that happened). We stayed at the Westin Hapuna in Sep 2018 on SPG points, and it was simply fantastic.

The Hilton Waikoloa is an enormous property, geared to families with small children. No beach, but several pools and a dolphin experience. The rooms are large and well-equipped. Our check-in was annoying - no room available, and the promised call when ready never came. Several maintenance requests took a long time for a response.

Water was shut down for a night. There were cockroaches in the room bringing big questions about the cleanliness and hygiene of the place. We played at the Hilton Waikoloa Tennis Centre during our stay on the Big Island from mid-November to just before Christmas 2014. The facilities are great, and the staff are outstanding!
