That way you can see how your oil cooler is holding up etc. once you know how everything is doing then you'll know where to start. 6.4 No Start, No Crank -- Everything fine, now Nothing! My close friend has a 2008 F250 6.4L with 32K miles that is stuck at a jobsite currently because this evening when he went to leave, the truck wouldn't start...wouldn't even crank over. He got in, waited for glow plugs, then tried to crank...NOTHING, no attempt to crank.

Basically the process starts with the engine core being taken apart, evaluated to make sure it's rebuildable, and cleaned. The cleaning entails two chemical spray tanks ($40k), a Goff Shot Blasting Machine ($90k), an Ultra Sonic machine ($10k), and various other manual cleaning methods (glass bead machine, parts washers, ect) …Essentially, this creates a pretty constant 3 PSI inlet pressure on the HPFP. (This is straight from the 6.4 Bible) Important Facts: 1. The HPFP on the 6.4 is called the K16. It was built by Siemens. Unfortunately, since this engine has been discontinued by Ford, it is pretty much impossible to get a new HPFP.On my '06, I'm pretty certain when I have 50 miles left to empty, it triggers the Low Fuel warning light in the message center in the dash. Usually when raw oil is coming out the exhaust it means oil is not being burned in the combustion chamber and lead to oil leaking AFTER the combustion chamber i.e. turbo problems. Now if you are low on oil and its blue smoke then 99% its the injector o rings.
