The 'HD' designation means that it comes with power steering, a dump bed and an self-leveling system on the rear axle. After 4 months and 122 miles It had a catastrophic primary clutch failure that left me stranded. If it is, you'll need a new belt. You could try using low range if you haven't already.If your Ranger shifts fine except when you park on a hill and then you can't get it out of park the problem is the parking pawl won't release because of the pressure applied to it from being parked on a hill.
