However, now I am seeing a LOT of recent negative reviews regarding maintenance issues, bad food, cleanliness, etc. I have not read anything similar about the Punta Cana resort. I am thinking maybe I should rebook my trip to the PC resort. My husband and I did Excellence Playa Mujeres last year. We were not excellence club. We have booked Excellence in Playa Mujeres and in El Carmen for 2016 both non club rooms. You will likely not even realize what you are "missing" being non club. The resort does a wonderful job of keeping the EC things hidden. I would still go.
