Fractal or shuffle for a more exciting game, Continents with Islands for a more normal game, Mediterranean is the only preset map I like at all, it’s actually really fun. Large mediterranean, true start or not. It's by far the best map with the best geography. They made it extremely well, very large. I like Seven Seas because it works for every kind of civ. For the exploration side of the game, I like maps like Continents and islands, Archipelago, Island Plates or Small Continents where you discover the map with naval units, following the coasts.
