Cars eventually, but they only work when you are close. When you not there, they dont stop zombies as they dont count as walls.

It would be a good way to quickly barricade entrences when you have no planks or nails at hand. Jericoshost.another way is to sledgehammer the old door frame out and rebuild it and then build a door inside it. need carpentry 4. if you dont want to barricade the broken window , just destroy the panel with the window in it and make a frame then a new wall. (if you build a window you still wont have glass in it) it makes a beat down base look decent.

Barricade it with a metal plate on the inside, then go outside and barricade with metal bars. It looks pretty good and lots of protection. Can't see outside of it though. Remove the broken glass first. Use gloves. There are mods to make glass, but idk if any of those allows you to replace large windows.
Make sure that if you have a box of nails that you select "unpack" and break it into 100 individual nails before trying to barricade. Alternatively, climbing up and then down a sheet rope again (or into and out of a car) fixed the problem for me. IIRC there are some types of hammers that can't be used for this.

I play with easy sandbox settings and have been slightly making things harder every run to try to get better and challenge myself. However - it makes NO sense to me that a zombie can thump his rotting head and hands into metal fucking bars that I welded to the window frame and break them down.
