I was checking and adjusting the timing on my 1996 Evinrude 40HP outboard, Model: E40TELEDS. The adjustment link is "pulled in" to the maximum, and minimum position screw is all the way in. During normal idle, mark is at -2 to -4 degrees, and at WOT its only at +12 degrees.
