Wrath of the Righteous feels like playing an epic tabletop campaign. Owlcat Games did a fantastic job of adapting the Wrath of the Righteous Pathfinder campaign into a video game. The more focused story, streamlined gameplay, and epic scope make it a better entry point to the series than Kingmaker.

Pathfinder is a tabletop RPG based off of the 3.5 Ruleset of Dungeons and Dragons. The games are similar to classic RPG games such as Baldur's Gate and Neverwinter Nights. The combat in this game and WOTR is boring and quite unrewarding.. As the title implies I am not a huge fan of the combat in these games.

There are also more in-game choices and consequences due to the Mythic Paths gating content. Overall, I also enjoyed the trip to Alushinyrra far more than the time spent in the First World. Kingmaker has more interesting companions, a far better first couple of chapters and far better writing overall, but I dispise everything after Pitax.
BG3 feels like much more of a new player friendly game than either Pathfinder game. There's way less information overload and it focuses on giving the story with polished gameplay. I love the pathfinder games but I would feel much better recommending this one to friends who are new to the genre.
Other than that, Through the Ashes occurs during the very early part of the main campaign on the timeline, and Lord of Nothing happens as your main campaign character is going though Acts 2 - 5.
