This is my third annual year-end post on the esteemed FanGirlVerdict, so let’s see if I can speedrun the introduction this time: Born and raised in the U.S.; currently live in California; first started watching kdramas in May 2020; been benefiting from the guidance of our hostess and enjoying the lovely community since November-ish 2020.THE SHORT VERDICT: A gorgeously shot, epic love story that works out to be wonderfully addictive and immersive. The entire cast is pretty great, but it’s really our leads Wu Lei and Zhao Lu Si who ground this one for me, with their nuanced portrayals of their characters, and their fantastic shared chemistry.
