The most common problem on the Duramax is the EGR. That and head gasket issues. As far as electrical issues, this is really the only other one I know of. I had the code read at Auto Zone. They said it had to do with fuel pressure control/performance. The code #P0089 says the fuel pressure solenoid control circuit voltage is implausible. Probable causes: Open or short circuit condition. Faulty fuel pressure solenoid. EMC fault. It seems to happen every time I get fuel.
