I have a '05 2500HD with the Duramax Diesel /Allison trans. and bought it with the stock air box and with it had very slow throttle reponse. I added on a Bully Dog Air Intake and did very little if anything to quicken it. It is most noticeable from a dead stop and hitting the throttle. I have 2005 Duramax that has acceleration problem that comes and goes. If I accelerate a little to hard( not wot) it will kind of jerk and then its like you turned the key off. They were P0401 EGR insufficient flow, P0404 Exhaust Gas Recirculation Open, and P0101 Mass Air Flow Sensor Circuit Range/Performance. Any and all adviced is appreciated. I went out to drive it and at first I had to put my foot all the way to the floor just to get to 1800 rpm. It seemed to get better as I kept driving (would go over 1800 rpm) but it still seemed rather sluggish. Regen issues, thumping sound from the motor, and a few other smaller things. The fuel pumps don't appear to be an issue on the L5P motors. As you know the Duramax does not have a lift pump to push the fuel from the fuel tank to the engine, it uses the injection pump [CP3], to draw/suck the fuel from the fuel tank through all the fuel lines, filter, FICM and then into the CP3.
