Larger magazine capacity, grip frame and slide (4"), Probably closer, overall, to the G30. The Shield 45 may not be the simplest gun for someone who can't help themselves when it comes to tinkering. Good gun, though. Clean and lube to instructions and don't start taking it apart beyond field-stripping.

Bottom line it is hard to beat the mag capacity (10+1), light weight in this small of a package anywhere. The holster makes all the difference in the world. I am recently new to Glocks (mainly a Walther P99 guy due to grip size) and since recently getting a G26 I have gone Glock crazy I guess....I want a G30sf since I prefer the grip size better but will the new Gen 4 G30 be the exact size/smaller than the SF. From my understanding, the 30 gen 4 has the same grip dimensions as the 30SF if you don't use a backstrap attachment.
