The G3100 had an additional 5GHz radio for wireless backhaul to the E3200. The CR1000A doesn't have the additional 5 GHz radio. It uses 6 GHz backhaul for the new extender minis which are still not widely available due to an inventory shortage. Well, let's do some collations here. E3200 - 2: 4 x 4 5GHz, 1: 4 x 4 2.4GHz.

To improve connection speeds, make sure your extenders are using Coax or Ethernet to connect back to the CR1000A, which is something Verizon's extenders have as a built-in feature. If you are using wireless uplink anywhere, your wireless speeds will be penalized.

CR1000A here with gigabit. I get 980 down wired about 650ish through wifi. Good enough for me. . I had the CR1000B before and it was junk. Slow connection, bad range. Probably faulty firmware or something, I returned it for CR1000A. I skipped G3100 since I bought my own G1100 from Ebay for $20 and that was good for years.

Here is the solution that works great for me. 1. Disconnect G1100 from ONT and connect to LAN port via ethernet to change settings so that it is no longer a router and is only a Moca bridge. 1a. Turn off 2.4 & 5 GHz wifi radios as described elsewhere. File transfers over LAN/ethernet from one Windows PC to another, used to transfer at speeds between 70 to 100 MB (MegaBytes) p/s.
I swapped the router yesterday (replaced the new CR1000B with a new CR1000A). There was a blip overnight (my alarm system reporting losing wifi at 1:37am, and then it was restored at 1:40am), but otherwise things have been stable. I alerted Verizon to the overnight blip, and they are going to pull the logs and investigate.
