You can't move things into the folder and have them import the same way they would in stable. 5 years ago. Yes you can. Inside the "osu!.pcname.cfg" file in your osu! folder, there is a BeatmapDirectory line that allows you to define a custom path to your songs folder. If you are going to change this, just make sure you do it while you have the game closed. Also I believe your maps will reprocess once you change it and open the game again.
