Multiplayer launched from within the game itself is still limited by the tether distance. I think you can have even more than 2 player, but it is limited by the tether. The tether is now set at 5 or 9, but somehow we can still separate and glide all over the map without triggering this minimal tether, so long as we don't change zones.
