The online still works but it's a bit janky due to the netcode, but I still found it somewhat playable casually, takes some time adjusting to it. Most of the player count is either people idling on the menu or playing in singleplayer / mods, but we had a little player count spike due to the classic collection reminding people of the game and ... It seems like the only way to prevent this issue is by resetting Windows, unfortunately. It is a DNS issue. Thats why certain windows accounts are having trouble, DNS can be configured differently to an account. Try manually setting DNS to googles.
