I was 1 cm dilated, 50% effaced w/ the baby already at zero station with my first internal at 36 wks. The docs thought I*might* go early too -- at my last internal on Monday (38 weeks, 6 days) - I was 2 1/2 cm dilated, 80% effaced...baby still at zero station. My due date is tomorrow and I still haven't had my baby! May need to be induced.I was dilated 2cm, 60% effaced July 1st. Its hard to say when i was 32weeks with my 2nd i was 1cm dilated. then on my due date 40weeks i was 3cms dilated and had a sweep and was told to come back in 10days to be induced if i didnt go into labour but there was no way i'd go to 10days over being 3cms.I believe I was 2 or 2.5 cm when I had the sweep done. I had mine around 38 weeks- I was already 2cm dilated and my waters were bulging. The sweep gave me light contractions all weekend, then my water broke a few days later. I had 2 sweets at 38 weeks and gave birth at 38+3. I had one that early last time with my son.

Dilation has progressed from last week. I chose to do cervical checks I know it doesn't necessary indicate when birth is coming but I like to know. With this pregnancy, at my 38 week appt (earlier this week), baby is still high and not dilated at all (cervix is not soft).Re: 39 weeks, 3 cm dilated...how much longer? a friend of mine was 3+ for over two weeks. Including a week or so at 4. but, it could be tomorrow. there's no way to tell. I was 3+ for 2.5 weeks. I ended up being 5 when I went in to be induced at 2 weeks past my due date, but like PP said, you never know.
